Sanaa Mheidly, a 17-year-old Lebanese woman from the Nationalist Social Syrian Party, driving a white Peugeot 504 full of over 200 kg of TNT attacks a barricade of Israeli military vehicles on the borderline of Bater – Jezzin in South Lebanon, thus becoming the first female suicide bomber in the region. On the evening of the same day, Télé Liban broadcasts the videotaped testament she shot 15 days earlier while she was interviewed by her death coach from the Nationalist Social Syrian Party. The Israeli government kept her body until July 2008 after the negotiations made between Hezbollah and Israel to exchange the bodies of the Lebanese martyrs with those of the Israeli soldiers captured in July 2006. Sanaa’s body returned to Lebanon in a wooden box carrying the number 187.

The proton beams successfully circulated in the main ring of the LHC for the first time. The LHC is the biggest machinery ever built by men in their quest to understand the origins of the world after the great explosion of the Big Bang.
While the world is watching the simulation of the biggest explosion in the age of the earth, the Arab world is welcoming the bodies of those who exploded themselves for the sake of a free afterlife, trying to force their freedom by committing suicide bombing. The question remains: What do the words “hero”, “martyr”, “terrorist” and “icon” mean exactly?
Triptych - I am the martyr # 187 emerged from the need to question the ambiguous and changing meaning of the words ‘hero’, ‘martyr’, and ‘terrorist’. The work draws a potential fictional biography of Sanaa’ Mheidly, the first female suicide bomber in Lebanon, beyond the culture of death and martyrdom.
The three-part installation is an attempt to create a hypothetical life story of Sanaa’, through the remaining artifacts of her “martyrdom”:
A letter, a videotaped testament, and a wooden box in which her body remains were given back to her family in mid-2008.

Sanaa Mheidly, une jeune libanaise de 17 ans, au volant d'une Peugeot 504 blanche remplie de plus de 200 kg de TNT, attaque une barricade de véhicules militaires israéliens à la frontière entre Bater et Jezzin, au Sud-Liban, devenant ainsi la première femme kamikaze de la région. Le soir du même jour, Télé Liban diffuse le testament vidéo qu'elle a tourné 15 jours plus tôt alors qu'elle était interviewée par son coach de la mort du Parti nationaliste social syrien. Le gouvernement israélien a conservé son corps jusqu'en juillet 2008 après les négociations entre le Hezbollah et Israël pour échanger les corps des martyrs libanais avec ceux des soldats israéliens capturés en juillet 2006. Le corps de Sanaa est retourné au Liban dans une boîte en bois portant le numéro 187.

Les faisceaux de protons circulent pour la première fois avec succès dans l'anneau principal du LHC. Le LHC est la plus grande machine jamais construite par les hommes dans leur quête pour comprendre les origines du monde après la grande explosion du Big Bang.
Alors que le monde assiste à la simulation de la plus grande explosion de l'histoire de la terre, le monde arabe accueille les corps de ceux qui se sont fait exploser au nom d'une vie après la mort, tentant de forcer leur liberté en commettant des attentats suicides. La question reste posée : Que signifient exactement les mots "héros", "martyr", "terroriste" et "icône" ?
Triptyque – I am the martyr # 187 est né de la nécessité de questionner la signification ambiguë et changeante des mots "héros", "martyr" et "terroriste". L'œuvre dessine une biographie fictive potentielle de Sanaa' Mheidly, la première femme kamikaze au Liban, loin de la culture de martyre et de mort.
L'installation en trois parties est une tentative de créer une vie hypothétique de Sanaa', à travers les artefacts restants de son "martyre" :
Une lettre, un testament filmé et une boîte en bois dans laquelle son corps a été rendu à sa famille à la mi-2008.
